Trusted PACS™ OEM Certification Services
The CertiPath Trusted PACS™ OEM Certification Service provides comprehensive testing of PKI Based Physical Access Control Systems (PACS). PACS that receive certification against the CertiPath Trusted PACS requirements are placed on CertiPath’s Approved Products List (APL). While the CertiPath testing is the first of its kind focused on PKI functionality, our testing methodology is unique and differentiated from other certifications, such as the GSA FIPS 201 APL. There are two major tenants to this methodology.

- Full System Testing (a.k.a. end-to-end testing)—Individual component tests cannot provide implementation assurance. Component testing is blind to protocols, system interdependencies and the like, all present in a production PACS. Our testing is done in an offsite lab at an undisclosed location. The lab simulates a live building environment, both internal and external. Systems are connected to life and safety equipment. As an example, the reaction of door readers that get wet from a sprinkler system triggered by a fire alarm is tested.
- Continuous testing—PACS providers employ some of the best engineering expertise, and as such, new versions of PACS components are continuously being introduced and updated. Certified APL products are never removed from the lab but rather run continuously for so long as they are on the APL. When a vendor releases an update or new revision, it is immediately
